- Abies nordmanniana - A species of fir native to the mountains surrounding the Black Sea (Caucasus, Turkey), commonly known as the Caucasian fir or Nordmann fir. In European balneology and clinical aromatherapy, this species is highly valued for the superior quality of the essential oil obtained from its needles, rich in bornyl acetate and camphene, substances intensely used in inhalation therapy for lung disinfection and in therapeutic baths for muscle relaxation and nervous system soothing.
