• abietacee - An archaic botanical or systematic classification previously used in Romanian medical and pharmaceutical literature to designate the conifer family (currently Pinaceae). In old treatises of medical botany, the term grouped resinous trees such as the fir or spruce, recognized for their balsamic, respiratory antiseptic, and expectorant properties, being heavily utilized in traditional medicinal syrups and anti-rheumatic ointments.
• abietinee - An old scientific name assigned to a subfamily or family of gymnosperm plants (conifers), including genera such as Abies (fir) and Picea (spruce). In ancient medical botany treatises, the abietineae represented a major source of volatile active principles (essential oils, turpentine, resin acids) intensively used in therapeutic balneology, chronic lung disease treatments, and anti-scorbutic remedy distillation.
