Ameloblastoma
Definition
A benign but locally invasive and aggressive tumor of odontogenic origin, developing most frequently in the mandible or maxilla from the cells of the enamel organ (ameloblasts). Although it rarely metastasizes, it carries a high rate of local recurrence if not completely excised via radical surgical resection, causing surrounding bone destruction and facial deformities.
