#Acadiia
- Acadia — An atypical, hypercorrect, or erroneous spelling variant of the historical toponym 'Acadia' (a colonial region in eastern Canada and northern Maine). In older Romanian texts, the double 'i' spelling occasionally reflected an attempt to faithfully render the phonetics of the final hiatus during articulation or an early adaptation of the name from Cyrillic sources. In modern linguistic context, this form is considered a departure from the official literary standard, with 'Acadia' being the exclusively accepted term for designating that early francophone province.
