#Alpen
- Alpen — The German or frequent international designation for the Alps, the largest and highest mountain range located entirely within the European continent. It also represents the name of a municipality and historical settlement in the North Rhine-Westphalia state, Germany. In a structural geographical context, the term serves as an onomastic root for numerous concepts related to mountain topography, glaciology, and high-altitude tourism.
- Alpenstock — A long, sturdy wooden staff equipped at the lower end with a sharp metallic spike (ferrule), used in the past by mountaineers and hikers as an essential structural support during ascents on steep slopes, glaciers, or rugged terrains. In modern mountain equipment, this traditional tool has been gradually replaced by ice axes and telescopic trekking poles.
- Alphorn — A traditional, large-sized wind musical instrument (several meters long), structurally crafted from hollowed softwood wrapped in birch bark, equipped with a flared curved bell at the lower end and a wooden mouthpiece. This alpine horn, specific to the mountain regions of Switzerland and Austria, produces powerful, warm natural harmonic sounds, historically utilized by shepherds for long-distance communication between ridges and for signaling.
