- Aposeris — A genus of perennial herbaceous plants in the family Asteraceae (Compositae), subtribe Cichorieae, represented in the spontaneous flora of Central and Eastern Europe primarily by the species Aposeris foetida (stinking cress). It is characterized by basal rosettes of deeply pinnatisect leaves, leafless scapose flowering stems, solitary capitula of yellow ligulate florets, and the emission of an unpleasant, fetid odor upon the crushing of vegetative tissues.
