• Arafura — The Arafura Sea; a continental sea located in the western Pacific Ocean, bounded by the northern coast of Australia, the island of New Guinea, and the Indonesian Tanimbar and Kai islands. This sea covers a vast, shallow continental shelf and holds major geopolitical and ecological significance due to its rich fishing resources and outstanding marine biodiversity, while also connecting the Timor Sea to the Torres Strait.
