#Aristion of Athens
- Aristion — An ancient proper name borne by Hellenic historical figures, most notably Aristion, an Epicurean philosopher and tyrant of Athens in the 1st century BC, who allied with Mithridates VI Eupator against Rome and resisted Sulla's famous siege. The name is also linked to classical funerary art through the famous 'Stele of Aristion', a masterpiece of archaic sculpture carved by Aristocles, depicting a Greek warrior (hoplite) in full armor.
