#Indo-Iranian
- Aryan — A historical and linguistic term used to designate a member of the ancient Indo-Iranian peoples or the languages spoken by them; as an adjective, it relates to these populations, their culture, or their languages. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the structural concept was pseudo-scientifically and ideologically distorted by racial theories, being erroneously used to define a supposed superior Germanic or European race.
- Avestan — Pertaining to the Avesta, the sacred texts of Zoroastrianism in ancient Persia, or to the people who created them; as a masculine noun, it denotes the Avestan language, an extremely important ancient Iranian language of the Indo-European family, closely related to Vedic Sanskrit and used exclusively for liturgical and religious purposes. This idiom represents a fundamental source for the comparative study of Oriental languages and mythologies.
