#Jurassic period
- Allosaurus — A genus of large bipedal theropod dinosaur, carnivorous, that lived during the Late Jurassic period (approximately 155 to 145 million years ago), operating as the apex predator in what is now North America (Morrison Formation). It was characterized by a massive skull equipped with dozens of sharp, serrated teeth, short but powerful forelimbs ending in three fingers with large claws, and a long, heavy tail used for balance.
- Amphitherium — A genus of small fossil mammal from the Middle Jurassic period, characterized by primitive features of the mandibular dentition; from an evolutionary standpoint, it is considered a potential ancestor or an early related form of modern marsupials and placental mammals.
- Apatosaurus — A genus of gigantic sauropod dinosaur, a herbivore that lived during the Late Jurassic period in what is now North America. This remarkable prehistoric animal was characterized by an extremely long neck, a long whip-like tail used for defense, and massive pillar-like limbs that supported a structural weight of dozens of tons, historically known also under the popular name of brontosaurus.
