- Apperception — A superior and conscious psychological process through which a current perception is interpreted, clarified, and assimilated into the mind via the background of knowledge, memories, and experiences previously accumulated by the individual. Unlike simple perception, it implies voluntary attention, self-reflection, and structural localization within the personal conceptual framework.
- Appetition — A tendency, drive, blind desire, or internal force through which an organism or consciousness tends toward the satisfaction of its needs or toward an external object. In Leibniz's philosophy, the concept designates the internal dynamism of the monad, meaning its constitutive tendency to pass from one perception to another.
