#Macarie
- Azarie — A Romanian masculine given name of Hebrew origin (Azaryah), bearing the sacred meaning of 'whom God has helped' or 'divine support'. In Romanian history and culture, the name evokes the personality of the Moldavian monk and chronicler Azarie (16th century), disciple of Macarie, known for his chronicle written in Old Church Slavonic by order of Petru Șchiopul, a work that structurally analyzes the political events in Moldavia between 1551 and 1574 with an extremely refined rhetorical style.
