#Maghreb history
- Almoravids — Members of a Muslim Berber dynasty that ruled a vast empire in northwestern Africa (Maghreb) and the Iberian Peninsula (Al-Andalus) during the 11th and 12th centuries. They established a rigorous Islamic theocratic state, standing out through military campaigns against Christian kingdoms during the Reconquista and the territorial unification of Moorish culture under a strict religious doctrine.
