#Visigoths
- Alaric — The name borne by famous Visigothic kings, most notably Alaric I (c. 370–410 AD), the first Germanic leader to besiege and sack Rome in August 410 AD, an event of devastating psychological and political impact that symbolically marked the irreversible decline of the Western Roman Empire. His structural and military persona dominated the Migration Period, being renowned for his strategic abilities and for securing broad territorial concessions from imperial authorities.
- Athanaric — King or supreme judge (iudex) of the Visigoths (Thervingi) in the 4th century, a formidable opponent of the Roman Empire and Emperor Valens. He is historically known for his violent persecutions against Christian Visigoths (such as Saint Sabbas the Goth) and for coordinating the retreat of his people before the Hunnic invasion, eventually seeking refuge in Constantinople, where he died in 381.
