#acropolis rituals
- Arrephorae — The name borne by the young noble girls in ancient Athens (aged between 7 and 11) who lived temporarily on the Acropolis to serve the goddess Athena. Their main structural task during the ritual called Arrephoria consisted of weaving the sacred peplos offered to the goddess and carrying baskets with secret, mysterious contents through nocturnal underground passages to the sanctuary of Aphrodite in the gardens, symbolizing structural purity and feminine civic initiation.
