#adenopatie
- Adenomegaly — An hypertrophic enlargement of the volume of a gland or a lymph node, occurring as a reaction to an inflammatory, infectious, immune, or neoplastic process in the body. This structural phenomenon manifests clinically through palpable swellings in regions such as cervical, axillary, or inguinal, requiring imaging and histopathological investigations to determine the underlying cause.
- Adenopathy — A disease or clinical manifestation characterized by the pathological enlargement, altered consistency, or sensitivity of the lymph nodes. This structural phenomenon represents a warning signal of the organism, occurring as a reaction to a local or generalized infection (viral, bacterial, fungal), within autoimmune diseases, or as a direct indicator of a primary or metastatic malignant tumor proliferation.
- Anti-scrofulous — Combating, treating, or alleviating scrofula (a historical form of extrapulmonary tuberculosis manifesting as inflammation and ulceration of the lymph nodes, especially in the neck area). The term circulated in traditional pharmaceutical recipe books of past centuries to describe ointments, iodized oils, or herbal infusions (such as nettle or walnut) recommended to reduce lymphadenopathy.
