#agarenes
- Agarene identity — A historical and religious term used in the past to designate the condition, origin, or religion of the Agarenes (Muslim populations, especially Ottomans or Tatars, considered in medieval writings to be the descendants of Hagar); by extension, the term referred to the state of paganism or the Muslim community in political or religious conflict with the Romanian Principalities.
- Hagarene — Pertaining to or specific to the Hagarenes (Muslims, Turks, or Arabs); of Islamic or Oriental nature, as perceived in the medieval Romanian cultural space. The term, highly characteristic of old hagiographic and chronicle texts, was used structurally to describe elements of worship, military customs, garments, or political realities associated with the Ottoman Empire.
