• Hunting clamor — A powerful shout, uproar, or loud noise made by beaters during princely or boyar hunts to scare and drive game out of hiding places. In a broad and regional sense, the term can designate a noisy outburst, an uninterrupted clamor of voices, or a harsh urge, historically used in descriptions of hunting parties in medieval Moldavia.
