• Dysmenorrhea — A gynecological symptom characterized by the occurrence of severe, acute, and often disabling abdominal or pelvic pain during menstruation; dysmenorrhea. The nociceptive manifestation is caused by intense uterine contractions triggered by excess prostaglandins (primary) or underlying pelvic pathologies (secondary).
