#alimescu
- Alimescu — A rare Romanian surname of historical resonance, documented particularly in the Moldovian regions (with attested records dating back to the 18th century, e.g., Simeon Alimescu, court bailiff in 1763). Etymologically, it is a patronymic derived through epenthesis and structural suffixation from the Byzantine proper name Alipie (Gr. Alypios - the one who relieves pain), being related to the more common forms Alimpescu or Alimpești.
