• Allotopy — An abnormal, atypical, or aberrant displacement, localization, or positioning of an element in a zone other than its natural one. In medicine (pathology/anatomy), it represents the congenital or acquired presence of an organ or tissue in an unusual place (ectopia, structural heterotopia); in linguistics and poetics, it defines a deviation from a text's normal semantic network (isotopy) by introducing a term foreign to the context to distort meaning or create a shocking metaphor.
