- Rock bentgrass — A species of perennial herbaceous plants within the genus Agrostis, family Poaceae, native to the mountainous regions of Europe (including the Carpathian Mountains). This grass grows in low, dense tufts on stony substrates, cliffs, screes, and alpine meadows with shallow, acidic soils; it is highly resistant to frost, strong winds, and drought, playing a major ecological role in stabilizing high-altitude soils.
- Androsace — A genus of herbaceous perennial or annual plants in the family Primulaceae, commonly known as rock jasmines. Most species are structurally adapted to cold, alpine, or arctic climates, forming dense leaf rosettes and short stems to withstand strong winds and low temperatures in rocky mountain habitats.
- Azorella — A genus of perennial herbaceous plants in the family Apiaceae, native to alpine and subantarctic regions of South America, New Zealand, and islands of the southern Indian Ocean; these plants grow extremely slowly and form dense, compact, cushion-like mats (such as Azorella compacta or Yareta), perfectly adapted to withstand violent winds and freezing temperatures.
