- Angiosclerosis — A structural pathological process characterized by the hardening, stiffening, and loss of elasticity of blood vessel walls, particularly of small arteries and arterioles, due to deposits of fibrous tissue, lipids, or calcium. This well-defined condition, closely linked to the general aging process, arterial hypertension, and metabolic disorders, narrows the vascular lumen and significantly reduces the circulatory flow's capacity to adapt to the needs of peripheral tissues.
