#anion
- Companion — An archaic or regional term used to denote a person standing beside someone, a companion, a close neighbor, or a fellow traveler or worker. In certain historical and rural legal contexts, the word also referred to a witness brought to the boundary definition of estates or to a co-owner in a traditional agricultural association.
- Alcor — The proper name of a fourth-magnitude star in the constellation Ursa Major (80 Ursae Majoris), located very close to the brighter star Mizar, with which it forms a well-known visual double star pair. Historically, the ability to visually distinguish these two stars with the naked eye was utilized as a classic test for visual acuity across various cultures.
- Friend — A person connected to another by mutual affection based on trust, respect, and shared ideas or interests, without necessarily reaching the depth or longevity of a full friendship; a companion or close acquaintance. As an adjective, it describes a benevolent, favorable, or friendly behavior.
- Female friend — A woman or girl connected to another person through a relationship of friendship, based on affection, esteem, and shared interests, without necessarily having the depth of an old friendship; a close female acquaintance or companion. As an adjective, it represents the feminine form of 'amic'.
- Amide salt — An inorganic chemical compound derived from ammonia by replacing a hydrogen atom with a metal atom (usually an alkali or alkaline earth metal), containing the structural anion NH2-. Metallic amides, such as sodium amide (NaNH2), are recognized as extremely strong bases and severe nucleophilic reagents, widely used in industrial organic synthesis for deprotonation, alkylation, and the formation of new carbon-carbon bonds.
- Anaphoresis — A structural physicochemical phenomenon represented by the movement of negatively charged colloidal particles or ions (anions) within a solution or suspension toward the positive electrode (anode) under the influence of an external electric field. In medicine and dermatology, this form of electrophoresis is utilized therapeutically for the transcutaneous introduction of negatively charged drugs or ions directly into tissues, facilitating precise localized treatments.
- Anion — An ion charged with negative electricity, containing more electrons than protons within its atomic or molecular structure. During the electrolysis process, the anion naturally migrates toward the positive pole (anode), driving fundamental oxidation reactions in electrochemistry and biological cellular processes.
- Anion-active — Having surface-active properties determined by a negatively charged ion (anion) within its dissolved molecular structure. The term describes chemical compounds, particularly detergents and wetting agents, whose molecules dissociate in water to release a negatively charged hydrophilic group, directly responsible for emulsifying fats and efficiently removing impurities.
- Anionic — Pertaining to anions, relating to anions, or composed of anions; possessing a net negative electrical charge within a chemical or biological system. The term characterizes molecular bonds, crystalline lattices, cellular membranes, or synthetic polymers where the electrostatic behavior is driven by the presence and migration of negative ionic species.
- Anion exchanger — A synthetic or natural macromolecular ion exchanger capable of binding and exchanging anions from aqueous solutions. This type of ion-exchange resin contains functional groups with a basic character fixed onto an insoluble polymeric matrix, widely utilized in industrial processes for demineralization, softening, and advanced purification of wastewater or drinking water.
- Next of kin — A person accompanying a patient admitted to a medical unit or who is their relative or legal guardian, having the civil responsibility to be informed about their health status; in a broad sense, belonging to something, pertaining to a certain structure or property.
- Arizona — A federal state located in the southwestern region of the United States of America, known globally for its spectacular arid landscapes, geological formations of immense significance such as the Grand Canyon, and its predominantly desert climate. Its territory represents a center of historical cultural convergence, housing numerous Native American reservations and urban areas undergoing rapid technological and demographic expansion in the modern era.
