#antiemetic
- Aeron — A complex pharmaceutical preparation, in tablet form, historically used for preventing and combating motion sickness (kinetosis), seasickness, car sickness, or air sickness. Its chemical composition was based on a stable combination of scopolamine and hyoscyamine salts, having a direct effect of inhibiting cholinergic receptors and reducing the excitability of the vestibular apparatus.
- Antiemetic — Preventing, combating, soothing, or stopping the sensation of nausea and the act of vomiting; a medication or active substance (such as metoclopramide or ondansetron) administered in the treatment of digestive disorders, motion sickness, or to counteract the emetic side effects of chemotherapy. These compounds act either centrally, by blocking dopaminergic or serotonergic receptors in the brain, or peripherally, by regulating the motility of the gastrointestinal tract.
