- Anti-terror — A shortened term, frequently used in daily, journalistic, and military language, for actions, troops, or devices intended for the direct combating of terrorism. It refers specifically to special rapid response units, tactical equipment, or assault operations designed to neutralize terrorists in hostage crises or imminent armed attacks.
- Counter-terrorism — The set of political doctrines, military strategies, national laws, intelligence measures, and international treaties adopted by a state or a coalition with the aim of preventing, discouraging, and countering terrorist threats. Unlike direct tactical intervention (anti-terror), counter-terrorism includes long-term strategies, such as cutting off financing sources for extremist groups, intelligence gathering, and combating radicalization.
- Counter-therrorist — Pertaining to counter-terrorism, relating to the fight against terrorism, or designed to neutralize extremist threats; a soldier, operative, or agent specifically trained to execute missions aimed at neutralizing terrorist groups. The term describes both the individual profile of an elite combatant and the defensive or offensive nature of a strategic operation carried out for public protection.
- Counter-terrorist — The feminine form of the adjective or noun antiterorist; relating to the assembly of measures, tactics, or units organized to combat armed extremism (e.g., counter-terrorist brigade, anti-terrorist action) or a female combatant integrated into the elite structures of special intervention forces.
