#aphimia
- Aphimia — A specific form of motor aphasia characterized by the loss of the ability to execute the articulated movements required for speech, while comprehension and the peripheral vocal apparatus remain intact. In clinical neurology, aphimia is caused by focal lesions in the left frontal lobe.
- Anaphimia — A rare form of language disorder or historical terminological variant sometimes used in clinical semiology to describe the structural inability or extreme difficulty to express emotional states, feelings, or ideas through coherent words; it can also be encountered in old neurological nomenclature as a contextual equivalent for certain forms of aphasia or verbal articulation disabilities associated with brain lesions.
