#archaic aid
- Feudal aid tax — An archaic phonetic and orthographic variant of the noun 'ajutor'; support, assistance, protection, or material contribution granted to someone in times of trial, danger, or necessity; in a feudal context, it represents an extraordinary levy, special tax, or contribution in money or kind that subjects (peasants, guild members) were legally obliged to pay to the ruler, boyar, or ecclesiastical institutions in crisis situations (war, princely wedding, prisoner ransom). This term reflects the legal-administrative terminology from old charters and codes of the Princely Chancelleries in Wallachia and Moldavia.
