#armig

• Arms-bearer variant — A truncated regional form or niche archaic variant for the term armiger, designating a warrior bearing arms, a squire, or a low-ranking nobleman invested with the right to bear a coat of arms. In ancient dialects or border writings, the word served as a structural descriptor for members of armed guards who secured fortifications or boyar convoys.
• Armiger — A person legally entitled to bear a coat of arms or a heraldic crest; historically, a noble servant or squire who carried the armor and weapons of a knight during the Middle Ages. In feudal social structures, the title marked an intermediate tier of prestige, situated just below the rank of knight, involving precise military responsibilities and a lineage officially recognized by the royal court.
