#arthrolysis
- Ankylotomy — A historical surgical intervention or reconstructive technique consisting of the sectioning of fibrous bridges, retracted ligaments, calcified joint capsules, or rigid tendons, performed to release a pathologically locked joint and partially or fully restore its functional mobility.
- Arthrolysis — Surgical intervention consisting of the sectioning or destruction of fibrous adhesions, pathological scars, or retracted capsules within a joint, aiming to restore mobility lost due to ankylosis or prolonged immobilization. This joint release procedure can be performed either through a classic open approach or arthroscopically, and must be followed by an intensive functional rehabilitation program.
