#ascent
- Climbing — The act of climbing or scaling and its result; the ascending, climbing, or mounting with effort onto a steep, rocky, or tall surface by firmly gripping with hands and feet; climbing. In the context of old Carpathian dialects, the term denoted the laborious movement of shepherds or hunters on mountain slopes, being an archaic native form fully replaced in modern standard language by 'cățărare'.
- Anafront — A type of atmospheric front (usually a cold front) where warm air masses are structurally forced to ascend rapidly and vigorously along the inclined frontal surface of the moving cold air. This dynamic phenomenon causes an accelerated adiabatic expansion of the rising warm air, generating a relatively narrow band of clouds with pronounced vertical development (cumulonimbus), accompanied by intense convective precipitation, showers, lightning, and squalls.
- Mountaineer — A person who performs a difficult climb, a mountain ascent, or an ascension in a balloon; a mountaineer or climber. In an adjectival sense, it refers to equipment, techniques, or sports clubs belonging to these practitioners or dedicated to organizing and facilitating mountain ascents.
- Ascent — The act of rising, climbing, or moving upward; the vertical upward movement of a body, vehicle, or air mass. In an astronomical sense, it represents the equatorial celestial coordinate (right ascension). Figuratively, it denotes a rapid and successful evolution, a social, professional, political, or spiritual advancement toward a higher level.
