#asexual cell
- Agamete — An asexual reproductive cell (such as a spore, zoospore, or conidium) capable of directly giving rise to a new living organism without previously fusing with another sexual cell. Its functional structure is specific to lower plants, fungi, and protozoans that utilize alternation of generations in their biological cycle.
- Agamocyte — An asexual reproductive cell or specialized spore that develops directly, without prior fusion with another cell, giving rise to a complete new individual. Structurally, agametes produced by lower organisms bear this name during cytological phases in which they exhibit no sexual differentiation or complementary gametic potential.
