- Amphiprostyle — A type of ancient Greek or Roman temple structurally characterized by the presence of two parallel external colonnades (porticoes), one located on the main front facade (pronaos) and the other on the rear facade (posticum), while the lateral walls (cella) remain plain and completely column-free. A classic example of amphiprostyle architecture is the Temple of Athena Nike on the Acropolis.
