#backshore
- Backshore — The area behind the beach proper, located along marine or lacustrine coasts, beyond the line reached by waves during normal high tide; this structure often includes sand dunes, halophytic vegetation, and sedimentary deposits brought by wind or violent storms, playing a critical ecological role in stabilizing the shoreline.
- Backshore — The part of the beach lying between the berm crest and the coastline, cliff, or sand dunes, located above the mean high-water line of normal tides. This structural sector is submerged exclusively during exceptional storms or extraordinary spring tides, being characterized by dry sand accumulations and specific salinity-resistant coastal vegetation.
