In neuroanatomy, it describes the amigdaloid body (or cerebral amygdala), a deep nuclear structure essential for emotional processing. In mineralogy, it refers to the texture of a volcanic rock whose vesicles have been subsequently filled with secondary minerals, forming oval nodules.
