#bishop
- Archpastor — An honorary and metaphorical ecclesiastical title used to denote a high-ranking hierarch, such as a bishop, archbishop, metropolitan, or patriarch, viewed in his capacity as the supreme spiritual leader and guide of the faithful within a diocese or national church. The term derives from the biblical symbolism of the shepherd of souls, adding the prefix of precedence to reflect supreme canonical authority over the clergy and community.
- Archprelate — A member of the higher clergy in the Christian Orthodox Church who has received through the sacrament of holy orders the fullness of priestly grace, holding the canonical right to consecrate and to spiritually govern a diocese; a generic term used to denote hierarchs of any higher rank, such as bishops, archbishops, metropolitans, or patriarchs. In theology, the archprelate is viewed as a direct successor of the holy apostles and as the mystical representative of Jesus Christ, the High Priest, in the midst of the community.
- Astrophytum myriostigma — A species of succulent cacti within the Astrophytum genus (Cactaceae family), native to the mountainous and arid regions of central and northern Mexico. The plant has a globose stem completely lacking spines, typically divided into 5 prominent ribs, giving it a three-dimensional star shape; its entire epidermis is densely covered by thousands of trichomes (microscopic white dots), giving it a characteristic silver-white hue, and its large flowers are pure yellow without a red center.
