• Adulation — Excessive, servile, and often hypocritical praise; blind and exaggerated admiration displayed toward a person, an idol, or an authoritative figure. The phenomenon implies a total idealization of the subject, frequently used within power structures or personality cults to maintain an infallible public image. Unlike sincere appreciation, adulation is guided by hidden interests, social opportunism, or mass conformity.
