- Adelphogamy — A form of reproduction or fertilization method found in some plants, fungi, and lower organisms, consisting of the fusion of two gametes or two sexual cells originating from sibling individuals, directly related strains, or the same parent organism. This type of extreme biological inbreeding tends to fix existing genetic traits, limiting diversity and variability within the population.
- Anisogametangiogamy — A complex type of sexual reproduction found in certain fungi and algae, consisting of the direct fusion of two gamete-producing structures (gametangia) that are unequal in size, shape, or histological structure. Within this cytological process, the entire content of the smaller, more dynamic male gametangium flows into the more voluminous female one, achieving genetic material blending without the prior release of independent gametes.
