• Ancient wheat strains — The plural form of the masculine noun 'alac'; it designates multiple strains, varieties, or crops of ancient wheat (Triticum monococcum or Triticum spelta), characterized by rigid stalks and grains tightly enclosed in hard glumes. Although it is a correct grammatical form obtained by applying the specific plural ending, the term is rarely used in contemporary language, with the collective singular 'alac' being preferred to define the entire harvest or organic grain crop.
