#clinical lexicon
- Amentia — A severe form of acute mental confusion and psychic disorientation, characterized by the structural collapse of the consciousness synthesis function, total incoherence in thought, and the presence of chaotic fragmented hallucinations. From a clinical perspective, it is a serious syndrome triggered by exogenous or somatic factors, such as massive intoxications, severe febrile infections, or major brain traumas.
- Glandular pathology — A rare medical term used to describe a medical condition or pathological state structurally correlated with inflammatory or degenerative processes of certain glandular or vascular tissues; in some ancient medical sources, the term referred to congenital anomalies or atypical tissue structures. Due to the standardization of modern clinical terminology, the word has been replaced by specific diagnoses, being preserved only in historical medical indexes.
- Aortic — Belonging to the aorta, relating to the aorta, or developing at the level of this main artery; an anatomical, functional, or pathological element closely correlated with the systemic blood flow directed from the heart to the rest of the body.
