- Angelica archangelica — The scientific name (in Latin) for garden angelica, a biennial or perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Apiaceae (Umbelliferae) family, native to temperate regions of Northern Europe and Asia. The plant features a robust, cylindrical, and hollow stem that can reach heights of 2 to 2.5 meters, bearing large, globular umbels of small greenish-white flowers.
