- Air filter — A technical device or industrial installation designed to retain impurities, dust, pollen, or other suspended particles in the air, ensuring the purification of the gas stream before it enters a room or an internal combustion engine. In ecology, the term also applies to biological systems for natural atmospheric filtration.
- Aeration tank — A large basin, reservoir, or industrial technical installation used in wastewater treatment plants for their aerobic biological treatment. Its structural operation relies on the continuous and forced insufflation of air (oxygenation) into the liquid mass, a process that stimulates the growth of microorganisms in the active sludge which decompose polluting organic substances.
- Antipollutant — Preventing, combating, retaining, or neutralizing the emission of harmful substances and pollutants in the environment; a chemical device, industrial filter, or active substance structurally designed to reduce the negative ecological impact of human activities. In an industrial sense, it describes technologies installed in the exhaust systems of factories or vehicles to purify residual gases.
- Land reclamation — The act of draining or sanitizing and its result; a complex set of technical, hydrological, or sanitary works through which excess moisture, stagnant waters, or pollution sources are eliminated from a region (swamps, polluted lakes) to make it healthy and suitable for agriculture or construction. In a medical or social sense, it represents the thorough cleaning, disinfection, or improvement of hygienic or moral conditions within a specific environment.
- Sanitizer — A device, agent, factor, or substance that performs sanitation, contributing to environmental purification, the elimination of infection sources, or the financial restructuring of an institution. As an adjective, it describes any element that has the property or capacity to clean, heal, or restore a structure to a normal state of functioning.
