#gastric secretion
- Anacidity — The pathological or total absence of hydrochloric acid from the gastric juice secretion, structurally settled at the level of the stomach mucosa. This clinical phenomenon, often correlated with severe gastric gland atrophy or pernicious anemia, severely disrupts the normal protein digestion process and promotes the growth of abnormal bacterial flora in the upper digestive tract.
- Apepsia — A severe form of digestive dysfunction characterized by the total absence or complete cessation of pepsin and hydrochloric acid secretion in the gastric juice, leading to the stomach's inability to perform the chemical breakdown of proteins. This pathological phenomenon is frequently associated with advanced stages of atrophic gastritis and pernicious anemia.
