#headscarf

• Roach (pește) — A small to medium-sized freshwater fish of the cyprinid family (Rutilus rutilus), featuring an elongated body, grayish-green back, silvery flanks, and reddish lower fins, very common in European lakes and rivers. Secondarily, it is a borrowing from Russian used to designate a grandmother or old woman, often carrying an affectionate connotation or referring to the traditional headscarf tied under the chin.
