- Stavesacre — An old scientific name or highly rare traditional pharmaceutical term historically used for the botanical species Delphinium staphisagria (stavesacre), a toxic plant whose seeds contain potent alkaloids. In old European empirical medical recipes or ancient botanical glossaries, its extracts were used strictly externally to control structural capillary parasites.
- Anti-scrofulous — Combating, treating, or alleviating scrofula (a historical form of extrapulmonary tuberculosis manifesting as inflammation and ulceration of the lymph nodes, especially in the neck area). The term circulated in traditional pharmaceutical recipe books of past centuries to describe ointments, iodized oils, or herbal infusions (such as nettle or walnut) recommended to reduce lymphadenopathy.
