- To scent — To perceive the scent or presence of an animal or object from a distance; to scent, track down, or sniff out (specific to predators or hunting hounds). Metaphorically, the verb signifies to suspect, intuit, sense, or anticipate a hidden intention, an imminent danger, or a secret opportunity, guided by subtle clues or a highly developed instinct.
- To scent (dial.) — A rare regional variant or altered phonetic form of the standard verb 'adulmeca', utilized within specific rural subdialects to describe an animal's action (especially hunting hounds or predators) of scenting, tracking down, or sniffing out prey from a distance. Metaphorically, it is occasionally used in popular speech to mean suspecting, intuiting, or sensing a hidden intention, an opportunity, or a danger before it becomes obvious.
- Scented — Scented, tracked down, or sniffed out from a distance via the olfactory sense; partially equivalent to the standard past participle 'adulmecat'. The term describes the status of a wild animal or an object whose volatile chemical particles have been intercepted by a predator or working dog. Metaphorically, it details a hidden intention, opportunity, or danger that has been suspected, intuited, or anticipated ahead of time due to sharp flair.

- To scent (dial.) — An extremely rare regional variant or altered phonetic form of the standard verb a adulmeca, found in isolated Transylvanian rural subdialects. It denotes an animal's action of scenting, tracking down, or sniffing out prey from a distance. The term arose through a rural phonetic contamination between a adulmeca and the lexical attraction of the verb root a adormi or local onomatopoeic structures related to the heavy breathing of tracking hounds.
- Hunting clamor — A powerful shout, uproar, or loud noise made by beaters during princely or boyar hunts to scare and drive game out of hiding places. In a broad and regional sense, the term can designate a noisy outburst, an uninterrupted clamor of voices, or a harsh urge, historically used in descriptions of hunting parties in medieval Moldavia.
- Alșut — An archaic or regional term found in certain dialects to describe an animal (especially a deer, ram, or goat) lacking a horn, or having a broken or stunted horn; alternatively, it can designate a bird with a wounded or clipped wing. In a traditional structural hunting context, the word served as a popular descriptive marker for specimens marked by obvious physical defects.
- Setting on — The act of egging on, urging, or setting a predatory or guard animal (especially dogs) to attack a target; by extension, the action of inciting or instigating individuals or social groups to hatred, strife, or violent actions against one another through manipulative speeches or intentional provocations.
- Male bustard — A regional or archaic term used in certain areas to denote the adult male of a large wild bird species (such as the great bustard, capercaillie, or lapwing), noticed during the mating season for its territorial display.
