- Agricultural lease — The articulated form of the noun 'arendă'; a lease agreement through which one party (lessor) grants to another party (lessee) the right of structural exploitation of agricultural assets, lands, or estates for a specified period, in exchange for a fee (rent). In a historical and legal sense, arenda represented a central pillar of the Romanian agrarian economy, regulating property relations, taxes, and land resource distribution in rural areas.
- Leasehold administration — An economic system, historical legal institution, or the complex profession and activity of managing leased agricultural estates; the office or central administration of a large-scale tenant farmer where accounting ledgers and peasant labor records were kept. In an institutional-structural sense, arendatoria represented the mechanism through which large boyar or monastic estates of the 18th and 19th centuries were commercially exploited via financial intermediaries.
