#lymphocyte
- Adenogram — The written result, graphical representation, or quantitative and qualitative microscopic interpretation of the cells obtained by fine-needle aspiration of a lymph node or a gland. This structural laboratory investigation (also known as a lymphadenogram) establishes the percentage ratio between different cell types (lymphocytes, neutrophils, histiocytes) to differentiate an inflammatory reaction from a malignant proliferation.
- Agranulocyte — A type of leukocyte (white blood cell) characterized by the absence of specific granules in its cytoplasm and a non-lobed nucleus; agranulocytes include lymphocytes and monocytes, playing a vital role in adaptive immunity.
- Autoimmunization — The active pathophysiological process through which an organism becomes immunized against its own antigenic constituents; the actual triggering and induction of autoantibody production following exposure to triggering factors or structural modifications of self-proteins. Unlike autoimmunity (the general state), the term describes the dynamics, evolution, and concrete stages of acquiring this abnormal reactivity.
