- Aldolase — An enzyme belonging to the lyase class that catalyzes the reversible cleavage of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate into two triose phosphates (glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate), a core step in the glycolytic pathway. Clinical measurements of its serum levels are utilized to diagnose acute muscle or hepatic disorders.
- Amidotrizoate — An iodinated organic compound with an aromatic structure, clinically used as a water-soluble, high-osmolality radiological contrast agent, also known as diatrizoate. Due to the high number of iodine atoms in its molecule, it strongly absorbs X-rays, facilitating clear structural visualization of blood vessels, the urinary tract (urography), and the gastrointestinal system during diagnostic imaging investigations.
- Antigen — Any macromolecular substance (protein, polysaccharide, or toxin), usually foreign to the body, capable of triggering a specific immune response, stimulating antibody synthesis, and reacting specifically with them. As an adjective, it describes an element possessing this immunogenic property.
- Aspermatic — Suffering from aspermatism or lacking semen; relating to the complete absence of secretion or ejaculation of seminal fluid; (in an extended structural sense) containing or producing no male reproductive cells.
