- Abcedography / Radiography of an abscess — A specialized radiological technique consisting of taking an X-ray of an abscess cavity, performed immediately following its puncture, evacuation of pus, and subsequent injection of a contrast medium or air to delineate its size, contours, and extension.
- Adenography — An imaging method or radiological investigation technique that allows the structural visualization and detailed examination of the glandular system or lymph nodes. This medical procedure is typically performed by introducing a radiopaque contrast medium into the efferent lymphatic vessels, followed by taking successive X-rays to detect abnormalities such as tumors, structural blockages, or chronic inflammation.
- Aerosialography — A radiological method of clinical investigation consisting of the examination of salivary glands and their excretory ducts by controlled injection of a small volume of air or gas as a negative contrast medium, followed by successive radiographs. This structural procedure enables the visualization of anatomical shapes, non-stereotypical salivary stones, or potential obstructions without using liquid iodinated substances.
- Aerouretroscope — A precision urological medical instrument used for the direct visual examination of the interior of the urethra, structurally designed to allow the controlled insufflation of air or gas to dilate the urinary lumen and facilitate mucosa visualization. This technical device enables the diagnosis of strictures, cysts, or other specific urethral pathologies.
- Aortoarteriography — A high-precision imaging investigation method consisting of the radiography of the aorta and its major arterial branches, following the prior injection of a radiopaque contrast medium. This structural diagnostic procedure allows detailed visualization of the vascular lumen, being indispensable for detecting stenoses, occlusions, congenital malformations, or complex aneurysms.
- Azygography — A highly specialized radiological imaging examination method utilized for the visualization and structural evaluation of the azygos venous system (azygos and hemiazygos veins). The procedure consists in injecting a radiopaque contrast medium directly into the rib bone marrow (transcostal azigography) or via a venous catheter, followed by serial X-rays to detect obstructions, congenital malformations, or mediastinal tumor invasions.
